WTA proposed changes would impact Ferndale area bus routes

Adding Sunday service and discontinuing service to the Grandview Industrial Park are part of the changes Whatcom Transit Authority (WTA) is proposing to Ferndale area bus routes and is seeking community feedback for.

WTA is hosting a community meeting at the Ferndale Senior Activity Center Wednesday, July 13th, from 6pm to 8pm to explain the proposed changes and get community feedback.

According to WTA, changes impacting Ferndale area bus routes include:

  • Route 27 (Ferndale – Cordata/WCC) service would be expanded on weekday evenings and Sundays
  • Route 70X (Blaine – Ferndale – Bellingham) service would be expanded between Ferndale Station to Bellingham Station on weekdays
  • Route 50 (Bellingham – Gooseberry Point) service would be expanded on Sundays and later on weekdays
  • Schedule changes to Route 27 but no route changes
  • Schedule and route changes to Route 70X and route 50
  • Service would not be provided on Portal Way between Birch Bay-Lynden Road and Grandview Road
  • Service would not be provided to the Grandview Industrial Park

There are three main ways you can provide feedback according to WTA.
