FERNDALE, Wash. — Officials with the Ferndale Community Services Cooperative (FCSC) announced via their website they have reached the funding goal of $10,000 for the recently created Ferndale Community Utilities Fund.
The Ferndale Community Utilities Fund is a new program to help people who find themselves unable to fully pay City of Ferndale utilities bills.
FCSC officials announced earlier this month they received a $5,000 grant from the Whatcom Community Foundation. That, combined with $3,100 in community donations, brought the fund total to $8,100.
It appears from the website announcement a grant from the Mary H Storer Foundation provided the final push needed to reach the funding goal.
Applications for assistance in paying City of Ferndale utilities bills can now be submitted via the FCSC website (the link to the application form is near the bottom of the Utilities Fund page).
