BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A BNSF Rail train reportedly struck and killed a pedestrian Wednesday, March 29th.
First responders were dispatched about 12:40pm to the area of Boulevard Park due to a report of an incident involving a train.
The train, stopped while the investigation is conducted, is blocking the Boulevard Park entrance and extends south blocking the crossing on Harris Avenue, near the ferry and Amtrak terminal.
It is estimated that traffic impacts in Fairhaven can be expected through the afternoon.
UPDATE 3:30pm – Bellingham Police report the train has been moved and is no longer blocking Harris Avenue nor the entrance to Boulevard Park.
