All lanes of northbound I-5 were closed near the Custer rest area as a result of a rollover crash about 8:25am this morning. Aid crews and Washington State Patrol troopers were dispatched. Debris from the single-vehicle crash was strewn across both lanes.

Washington State Patrol reopened one lane of northbound I-5 to traffic.

Both lanes of I-5 have been reopened.

Whatcom County Fire District 7 Division Chief Ben Boyko said aid crews arrived to find a 1-vehicle rollover and bystanders performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to 1 patient. The CPR efforts were successful and the patient was transported to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center, Boyko said.
