BELLINGHAM, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 9:40am on Wednesday, May 29th, to the northbound lanes of I-5 between the N Lake Samish Way and Nulle Road interchanges due to a report of a single-vehicle rollover crash with flames visible.
Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) reports both northbound lanes were closed in the area of the crash until about 10:35am when 1 lane was reopened.
According to the PulsePoint EMS dispatch log reporting system, at least 1 patient was transported from the crash scene to PeaceHealth St Joseph’s Medical Center by a medic unit.
WSDOT reported all lanes were reopened about 11am.
Washington State Patrol Sergeant Anthony Califano told Whatcom News this was a single car crash and the car ended up in a ditch long the road. The person transported to the hospital had non-life-threatening injuries. He added that no charges or citations resulted from the crash.
