Updated: Residential Brush fire on Sunshine Drive

Turned out this was bushes on fire along the property perimeter. No structures were involved. According to Whatcom County Fire District 7 Division Chief Ben Boyko, the homeowner was burning some garden clippings when the fire took off onto a row of tall bushes. The bushes were within feet of a neighbor’s house but the fire was extinguished before there was any damage.

Fire responded to a residential fire in the 5900 block of Sunshine Drive. Initial reports are of flames showing.
