Power outage darkens street lights in downtown Ferndale and areas north

It was reported about 11:30am today, April 6th, that traffic lights in downtown Ferndale had lost power and nearby businesses were in the dark as well. Just moments prior neighboring areas were reported to have been impacted by about a 5-second loss of power.

As of 11:55am, Puget Sound Energy reported 1127 of their customers had been impacted. No cause has been cited and a standard 2-hour estimate, 1:30pm, was given for restoring power.

About 1pm, PSE reported their customers north of the downtown area had their power restored.

As of 1:05pm, Puget Sound Energy reported 204 of their customers remained without power in the downtown area. The estimate to restore their power was set at 3:30pm.

As of 1:45pm, power had been restored to the downtown area according to PSE. There did remain a scattering of customers in the Portal Way neighborhoods previously impacted that were still without power.
