UPDATED: Power outage impacts 3700+ neighbors after report of transformer explosion

Several neighbors have reported losing power about 9:15pm tonight, Monday, after a loud explosion followed by a flash was reported to have been seen from the area of Slater and Elder Roads.

Neighbors from Thornton Street and south past Slater Road have reported losing power.

Update 11:25pm
Puget Sound Energy announced power has been restored. The cause of the outage was not revealed.

Update 11:15pm
Puget Sound Energy has updated their estimate for restoring power to 12:30am.

Update 10:35pm
Puget Sound Energy has not updated their estimate to restore power, which remains 11:30pm.

Update 9:35pm
Puget Sound Energy is reporting over 3,700 customers are with out power in the west and south Ferndale area (see map). The standard 2-hour estimate to restore power has been given while crews get onsite to locate and investigate the cause of the outage.
