Over 1,000 lose power in Ferndale Thurs. evening

FERNDALE, Wash. — Puget Sound Energy (PSE) reported a power outage left over 1,000 of their business and residential customers without power in the Ferndale area about 9:30pm on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

PSE said the outage was first reported at 9:30pm.

As of 9:50pm, the estimate for restoring power is 1am. No cause has been cited by PSE.

As of 10:30pm, the estimate remained 1am and the cause cited was trees/vegetation.

Whatcom County Fire District 7 was dispatched to Portal Way near I-5 due to report of a blown transformer at the same time as when the outage was reported.
