What-Comm dispatch received a report this morning of a black 2012 GMC Acadia reported as stolen from the Lake Stevens area in Snohomish County. The caller was with OnStar Systems and they were tracking the OnStar-equipped vehicle as it was being driven through the north Ferndale area.
Ferndale Police officers and Whatcom County Sheriff Office deputies were immediately dispatched and given frequent updates on the vehicle’s location and direction of travel. They converged on the vehicle after it pulled into a wooded area behind a residence in the 6600 block of Malloy Road south of Brown Road.
Based on law enforcement radio transmissions from the scene, the driver was immediately taken into custody and the nearby forest area was searched yielding no other possible suspects.

Tyler Lee Moore, age 46, was booked later at the Whatcom County for possession of a stolen vehicle. A person of the same name and age is currently pending trial in Whatcom Superior Court on a charge of felony forgery and had been found guilty of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) in 2007, a drug-related charge in 1996 and taking a vehicle without permission in 1993.
