“OMAHA” participating in law enforcement exercise at Mountain View school

Neighbors should not be concerned to see the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) helicopter flying overhead in Ferndale today.

According to a radio transmission to What-Comm dispatch from the crew on the helicopter (CBP aircraft are referred to via radio as “Omaha” plus their tail number), they would be taking part in an exercise around the vacated Mountain View Elementary campus this afternoon.

Note: There are two CBP helicopters. The one participating in today’s exercise is a black painted Sikorsky “Black Hawk.” Not the white and blue Airbus Helicopters AS350 “AStar” helicopter shown in the photo.
