Yesterday, the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife announced closures or restrictions on over 30 rivers across Washington State to take effect Saturday, July 18th at 12:01am.
So far, the Nooksack River through Ferndale is not on the list of closures or restrictions. This is good news for fishermen after the Nooksack was reopened to fishing at the end of last year and who are celebrating the pink salmon (humpies) season which opened yesterday, July 16th, and goes through August 31st.
