FERNDALE, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to a non-injury crash in the northbound lanes of I-5 in Ferndale about 5:25pm today, October 27th.

According to Washington State Patrol Trooper Rocky Oliphant, there was a non-injury crash just north of the Main Street interchange and 1 lane was blocked.

While the scene was cleared relatively quickly, the traffic back up lingered for over a half-hour during the evening commute.

As of 6pm, the backup extended 3 miles to Slater Road and there were reports of drivers attempting to go the wrong way up the Slater Road on-ramp to avoid the traffic jam.
