Nearby: DNR dealing with Skagit wildfire off North Cascades Highway

SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. — Yesterday, Saturday, April 20th, officials with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reported they and partner agencies responded to a brush fire near the city of Lyman in Skagit County.

The wildfire is estimated to be 20-30 acres in size and was 20% contained as of 7:45pm that evening. “DNR air assets and ground crews worked the fire throughout the day in challenging winds,” according to DNR.

About 8:30am Sunday, DNR reported firefighters were aided by overnight rains and cooler temps. The fire was estimated at 20 acres and 30% contained.

About 6:15pm Sunday, the fire was reported to be 60% contained and firefighters were continuing to work the fire.
