There were no crashes or other obstacles in the northbound lanes but northbound evening commute traffic immediately began backing up reaching from Main Street to Slater Road in just a few minutes, ultimately reaching nearly to Bakerview Road.
Reports are a recliner was in the traffic lanes of I-5 southbound just south of Main Street.
Two 2-vehicle accidents occurred within minutes of each other in the southbound lanes just before 5pm. Aid units responded and could be seen assessing injuries at the scenes of the two accidents.
A third crash was reported about 5:25pm as this story was being written. That crash is reported to be in the northbound lanes near Slater Road.
