Motorcyclist transported to the hospital after crash on N Lake Samish Drive

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Washington State Patrol (WSP) issued a press memo regarding a crash that occurred about 2:20pm on Sunday, July 28th, on N Lake Samish Drive and the southbound I-5 on-ramp.

According to the WSP, a 2013 Triumph Daytona motorcycle was northbound on N Lake Samish Drive and a 2002 Porsche 911 2019 Subaru Forester was southbound turning left. The Triumph collided with the Porsche’s passenger side.

The motorcyclist, a 24-year-old Bellingham man, was transported to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center by ambulance from the scene. A 28-year-old Langley BC, woman driving the Porsche was uninjured.

It is unknown whether the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet or if drugs or alcohol were involved.

As of 6:30pm, the cause of the crash remained under investigation.
