Just after 6am Saturday, November 5th, fire and law enforcement responded to a report of a mobile home fire in the 6200 block of Portal Way. According to a police radio dispatch the first report came from someone driving past on I-5.
First responders reported smoke and visible flames upon arriving. No injuries were reported since no one was inside at the time of the fire according to Whatcom Fire District 7 Division Chief Dean Crosswhite. Cause appeared to be accidental.
