Power remains off for over 500 PSE customers in Ferndale according to PSE. The expected time for restoration of device is 5pm.

Power is reported by many neighbors as having been restored.
UPDATE: 2:35PM
PSE workers told neighbors near Trigg Road and Portal Way that it appeared a tree branch had fallen and made contact with two high-power lines leading to a substation across I-5 on Aldergrove Road. This substation was “knocked out” as a result. Several utility vehicles have arrived at the Trigg Road location to address the problem.

Neighbors across Ferndale from Main Street to Portal Way to the Pacific Highlands found themselves suddenly with out power today, September 7th. Neighbors near Trigg Road and Portal Way reported hearing two loud explosions just prior to losing power.
The outage appeared unrelated to a car fire being dealt with at the same time on I-5 by Main Street.
Puget Sound Energy estimates the outage is impacting nearly 5000 of its customers.
