WCSO deputies determined no criminal activity related to the fire.

The Whatcom County Fire Marshal’s investigation determined that the fire caused the explosion due to multiple propane tanks in the residence. However, the cause of the fire remains undetermined.

The Whatcom County Medical Examiner’s Office has taken jurisdiction of Mr. Roberts’ remains and will determine the cause of death.

Additional details will be released as they become available.
