Lawrence Road (SR9) north of Mt Baker Highway reopened

DEMING, Wash. — Officials with Washington State Department with Transportation (WSDOT) announced this morning repairs to a washed-out section of Lawrence Road near Nugents Corner have been completed and the road reopened to all traffic.

The critical section of road connecting the cities of Sumas, Everson and Nooksack with the Mount Baker Highway and points south has been closed for about 3 weeks as a result of damage caused by historical flooding on November 15th.

Repairs began November 29th.
