Law enforcement have been tracking an individual fleeing them south from Custer School Road and Birch Bay-Lynden Road for about an hour (as of 3:15pm) today, April 15. The Homeland Security helicopter (aka “Omaha”) has been participating in the search. Sightings of various possible subjects have drawn the helicopter further south. These sightings have proven not to be the subject being sought.
As of the time of this post, the subject has not been located but schools in the area have been given the okay to dismiss students using normal protocols.
Discover Ferndale is not aware of why the individual is wanted by law enforcement. He is reportedly armed only with a pocketknife.
