It was only a few years ago that Maria Fernandez was running a tortilla factory in Mexico. Recently she moved to Whatcom County and began looking for ways to return to running a business. After considering several options to open a food shop, Fernandez discovered an untapped need for a kids’ and maternity wear consignment store.
And with that, Little Closet at the Corner opened three weeks ago at 1855 Main Street, #B107 in Ferndale Station. Fernandez has already filled the store with a variety of clothing items including shoes. There are also books, puzzles, toys, strollers and more. Select items are currently marked at either 30% or 50% off.
According to Fernandez, “This is very different from running the factory. There, every day the same people came for the same thing but with this store, every day is different.”
Little Closet at the Corner is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10:30am to 7pm and weekends from 10:30am to 6pm.
