The newswires were all abuzz today with Jake Locker’s announcement that he was retiring from professional football.
I am retiring from football after much reflection and discussion with my family. … I realize this decision is surprising to many, but I know in my heart that it is the right decision and I look forward to spending more time with my family and pursuing other interests.
At age 26, Locker recently took a partnership in a local gym, “The Locker Room,” is married with a daughter who will turn two this summer and a months-old son and has had serious inclinations toward playing baseball in the past. So he has lots of options for keeping busy in the near future.
