The section of Main Street between LaBounty Drive and I-5 has been the scene of several injury crashes over past years, typically involving westbound drivers crossing the eastbound lanes while attempting a left turn from Main Street into a driveway that serves several businesses.
City of Ferndale officials announced last month that traffic control changes will be implemented in that area to prevent left turns by westbound Main Street traffic. At the time, the plan was to begin installing the barrier this week.
Today, according to City of Ferndale officials, the plan is now to begin installation the week of July 2nd.
The reason given was “There was a hold up getting the right equipment in stock,” according to an email from City staff.
