High Wind Watch warns of powerful winds to hit on Tuesday

Forecasters with the National Weather Service Seattle office today issued a High Wind Watch effective between 10am and 10pm tomorrow, Tuesday, January 5th.

According to today’s announcement, sustained southeast winds of 30 to 40mph with gusts to 60mph are expected. The advisory covers San Juan, western Whatcom and western Skagit Counties.

NWS warned damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines and widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
