Heavy rains overnight raise surface water flooding concern

Ferndale Public Works crews were out clearing clogged drains this morning.

Over 3/4″ of rain has fallen around the Ferndale area in the 5 hours since 2:30am raising concern for surface and creek flooding.

As of the time of this article, only one location, Vista Drive by Parkland Way, was reported to have water over the roadway near the California Creek bridge. The road remained open in the area.

Drivers should be alert for the possibly of standing water this morning.
