FERNDALE, Wash. — Whatcom County Fire District 7 firefighters responded to a report of gas odor inside adjacent businesses on 3rd Avenue about 3:50pm this evening, Tuesday, January 19th.

Firefighters could be seen on the building roof investigating the reported leak.

WCFD7 Division Chief Ben Boyko was at the scene and, as of 4:30pm, said it was not known whether the businesses, including one restaurant, would be able to remain open or if they would need to close until repairs could be made.

As of 5pm, an employee with the restaurant, Luxe Thai, said “Everything is okay. We are open tonight.”
