Former Ferndale City Administrator Greg Young has been hired as the City of Burlington interim city administrator according to a story published today by the Skagit Valley Herald.

Burlington’s city administrator for the past 8 years, Bryan Harrison, retired after suffering a medical emergency in November.

Burlington Mayor Steve Sexton said in an email his decision to hire Young was made at the end of April and the Burlington City Council approved the choice at their regular meeting last week.

Young had served as Ferndale city administrator for almost 15 years when Mayor Jon Mutchler decided not to renew his contract when it expired at the end of last year.

I’m sure he’s already lobbying Burlington for a pay raise…
