Flooding returns to Birch Bay area roads

BIRCH BAY, Wash. — Readers began reporting water over roadways in areas near Terrell Creek in Birch Bay about 9am today, Tuesday, December 27th.

First responders were dispatched to the 7500 Birch Bay Drive due to a report of a stranded vehicle with 3 occupants filling with water about 9:20am. All were reported able to get out of the vehicle on their own.

A coastal flood advisory is currently in effect until 1pm due to potential flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected.

About 9:45am, Blaine Police reported water over the roadway on Drayton Harbor Road. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route to between Blaine and Birch Bay.
