Flags to fly at half-staff Saturday

Washington State Governor Jay Inslee has directed Washington State and United States flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff on Saturday, September 14th, in memory of Sergeant First Class Dustin B. Ard, 31. Sgt. 1st Class Ard died from wounds sustained during combat operations in Afghanistan on August 29th.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 3pm at the Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, Washington.

Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business or sunset on Saturday, September 14th or through the weekend until Monday morning.

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
