Flags will be flying at half-staff today, Saturday, August 12th, in memory of Marine Sergeant Dietrich A. Schmieman, 26, of Richland. Schmieman was one of 16 Marines killed in a military plane crash in Mississippi on July 10th.
A Celebration of Life and Military Honors for Schmieman will be held today at 10am at the Central Church in Richland, Washington.
