The Annual Festival of Flags at Greenacres Memorial Park ceremony is scheduled to begin this year at noon on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29th.
This annual event is presented by Albert J. Hamilton American Legion Post 7 and hosted by Moles Farewell Tributes.
Parking will be accessible via Northwest Drive on the north side of Greenacres Memorial Park. There will be some handicap parking for those displaying a permit but only as space allows.
Seating will be limited. Attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs.
At noon, food will be accompanied by country western artist Aaron Crawford and the Mt Baker Toppers.
At 2pm there will be the Remembrance Ceremony led by master of ceremonies Colonel Wes Austin and keynote speaker US Navy Chief Don Thompson.
A Department of Homeland Security helicopter will deliver a ceremonial flag, a new WWI memorial will be unveiled and there will be a dove release.
Activities and crafts will be available for kids.
All weekend, visitors to Greenacres Memorial Park will be treated to the Avenue of Flags featuring over 1,700 veteran’s flags lining the pathways.
