About 10:45pm last night, Washington State Patrol responded to a report of a two-car accident on I-5 north of the Bakerview Road interchange.

According to the WSP, Rebecca A. Trammel, age 35, of Ferndale and Kathleen Ketchum, age 36, of Bellingham were transported to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center from the accident scene.

Both vehicles were reported to have been southbound on I-5 when Ketchum’s 2004 Honda CRV had changed from the left to the right lane when it was struck by Trammel’s 2003 Volkswagen GTI. Both vehicles went into the median as a result of the collision and were considered total losses.

According to WSP Trooper Mark Francis, this was a rollover crash and one person (unknown which) had been ejected from their vehicle. Both drivers were reported to have been wearing their seatbelts.
