The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release today notifying the public that a 53 year-old Ferndale woman who was struck by a vehicle while crossing 128th St SW in South Everett Monday night has died. Her identity has not yet been released. The King County Medical Examiner identified the woman as Diana E. Martinka, 53 according to an article by HeraldNet.
The driver of the vehicle drove away from the scene and is being sought by law enforcement. The vehicle would have sustained front-end damage and would be missing an outside mirror, which was broken and separated from the vehicle during the incident. Witnesses stated that the driver of the suspect vehicle was male.
Detectives have confirmed that she was not in the crosswalk at the time of the collision.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is asking that anyone who may have been in the area at the time or was witness to the accident call the Sheriff’s Office anonymous tip line at 425-388-3845.
