FERNDALE, Wash. — Dora Ruiz, co-owner of New Mexico Tamale Company says the business will be moving to a north Bellingham location soon.

“We have outgrown our little spot,” Ruiz told My Ferndale News, referring to the Quonset hut building at 5687 3rd Avenue that the business has been operating out of since late 2017. Prior to locating in the building, Ruiz and co-owner Tammy Look had established a loyal following due to their portable setups at farmers markets, community events and a high-traffic corner in Birch Bay in the years prior.

The business is relocating to Cordata Place at 4151 Meridian Street in Suite 106 according to a recently updated business license.

The transition to the Bellingham location will begin shortly after March 23rd, National Tamale Day, according to a recent announcement to customers.
