Ferndale Public Market Opens the Season Today

Ferndale Public MarketThis is a season of big changes at the Ferndale Public Market and it all starts today.

According to the Market’s website, vendors will include:

Of the changes mentioned, first and foremost look for the market in the field next to the Boys & Girls Club in Pioneer Park (see map below). This location provides for more space and parking than at the Centennial River Walk Park. In addition, instead of being held on Saturdays as in years past, the market will open Sundays and later hours from 2pm to 7pm.

It is hoped these changes will improve the market’s appeal to both vendors and visitors.

It was planned to have a gorditas giveaway on the opening day but according to the Market’s Liason with the City Carol Bersch, “We are not going to have the gorditas as earlier posted. The taco truck is still working with the City on getting a permit.”

But, in addition to the expected food, craft and other vendors, there will still be games for kids, sidewalk chalk and paper airplanes provided by the Ferndale Kiwanis.

Non-profits are encouraged to participate at the Ferndale Public Market to promote their organization and provide a kids activity. It can be something as simple as reading stories, throwing Frisbees, playing board games, etc. In return, their registration fee is waived. Contact the Market for more information.
