Ferndale Police to take another approach to slowing school zone traffic

FERNDALE, Wash. — The Ferndale Police Department announced today, Wednesday, November 16th, that writing tickets in school zones has not resulted in slowing speeds saying, “folks continue to go way too fast near our schools.”

As result, today’s announcement said another tact was going to be taken during upcoming months. Police vehicles will be located on or near school properties with their flashing emergency lights on in an effort to encourage safer driving in school zones.

“So, if you see one of our patrol vehicles lit up near a school, do not be alarmed,” said Turner, “but do ease off on that accelerator.”
