Ferndale Police arrest armed robbery suspect, age 18

FERNDALE, Wash. — Ferndale Police were dispatched about 8:30pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, to the 5600 block of Eagle Parkway due to a report of an armed robbery.

According to unconfirmed law enforcement radio transmissions at the time, a perimeter around the reported robbery location was immediately established and a description of the suspect broadcast to Whatcom County area law enforcement agencies. The suspect was thought to be armed with a handgun.

A K9 unit established a track from the scene of the robbery, and an unmanned aerial vehicle (aka drone) was launched in an effort to locate the suspect. A possibly related crime was reported at a retail business at Fourth Avenue and Main Street.

The multiagency search continued until shortly after 9pm.

According to Whatcom County Jail records, an 18-year-old man was booked into the jail by Ferndale Police about 3:30am on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. At booking, he was being charged with the following crimes.

  • unlawful possession of a firearm
  • 3rd-degree theft
  • failure to appear in court on a 3rd-degree theft charge
  • 1st-degree robbery
