A 62-year-old Ferndale man killed in a crash early yesterday has been identified now that family have been notified.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), Eric C Howard of Ferndale was killed when a white 2002 Ford Econoline van driven by Mark Kamphouse, age 31, of Maple Falls, crossed the center line in the 300 block of Alger Cain Lake Road in Skagit County and collided head-on with the blue 1998 Mazda Protege sedan Howard was driving.
While drugs and/or alcohol are suspected of being involved, the cause of the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending according to the WSP.
