The agenda for tonight’s Ferndale City Council has already had to be adjusted a bit as a result of the weather but remains, for the most part, intact.

On tonight’s agenda:

Ferndale’s new Chief of Police Kevin Turner was scheduled to be sworn in this morning at the Police Department and will be introduced to the community and councilmembers at tonight’s meeting.

The City’s traffic engineers, Transpo Group, were scheduled to provide a presentation regarding downtown traffic lights. Unfortunately, they would be coming from King County and given the weather-related driving challenges, have opted to reschedule.

The Ferndale Heritage Society is scheduled to make their annual presentation and they will be at the meeting according to City staff.

There will be a public hearing about accessory dwelling units and a vote on an ordinance regarding associated fees for those who want to build them.

The City is moving forward on implementing another water well and will discuss hiring contractors and consultants for the project.

The Mayor is expected to take another run at appointing a replacement for a seat on the Planning Commission made vacant when the Mayor choose not to reappoint a long-standing commissioner. According to meeting documents, the Mayor will be appointing Connie Faria. Councilmembers will be asked to approve the appointment.

Tonight’s Ferndale City Council meeting begins at 6pm in Council Chambers at 5694 2nd Avenue. The public is always encouraged to attend.
