FERNDALE, Wash. — A person died and 2 others were transported to the hospital after the pickup truck they were in rolled on S Red River Road just before 6pm on Sunday, June 9th.
A Washington State Patrol (WSP) press memo said the silver 2004 Ford F350 was southbound on S River Road from Slater Road about when it failed to negotiate a curve, lost control and rolled twice before hitting a power pole.
30-year-old Justin M Zollner of Bellingham, a passenger in the pickup, died in the crash according WSP.
King A Solomon, age 42, of Bellingham, was identified as the driver and Robert N Solomon, age 25, also of Bellingham, was identified as a passenger. Both were transported from the scene to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center by medic units.
The passengers in the pickup were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash but the driver was not according to investigators. Drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash but the cause and any possible charges remained under investigation according to the press memo.
The pickup was a total loss and impounded by the WSP.
