LYNDEN, Wash. — As of 12pm, April 24th, Washington State Patrol on the scene of downed power lines across Badger Road have closed the road until repairs can be made.
According to WSP Trooper Brandon Lee, a leaning utility pole dropped the power lines across the road on Badger Road (SR546) between the Benson Road and Depot Road. As a result, the road has been closed in both directions.
UPDATE: Road was reopened at 12:50pm.
Lee said Puget Sound Energy has been dispatched to make repairs.
No estimate was available for how long the road will be closed and pole replacements typically take an extended amount of time.
There were no obvious causes for why the pole was leaning, according to Lee.
