The Volunteer Mobilization Center is hosting a discussion on disaster preparedness for seniors at the Ferndale Senior Center on Tuesday, October 2nd, from 1pm to 2pm.

The speaker will be Alisha King, a nationally-recognized disaster technologist and an award-winning educator with a passion for building resilient communities. King currently serves as the Emergency Manager for the State of Washington IT “WaTech” and a DHS/FEMA instructor.

King is a vocal proponent for inclusive preparedness strategies.

Organizers say literature from the County and the State will be available to take home.
