It is just a few minutes before the 5pm commute begins and traffic is backing up on northbound I-5 from the Sunset Drive interchange.
As of 4:55pm, traffic appears slow moving between the Samish Way interchange and the Sunset Drive interchange. The reason for the backup is not known.
As of 5:20pm, no reason for the backup has been determined but Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) reports the left lane is partially blocked by a vehicle just north of Lakeway Drive.
