In February, Whatcom County Superior Court heard arguments from lawyers representing the City of Ferndale and lawyers representing Artur Rojsza, builder and owner of the “clock tower” residence at 2147 Main Street, and his wife Margaret. The court then rendered a decision which, in part, required the Rojszas to make repairs and replace materials on their residence while also refusing to require the Rojszas to pay penalties the city was seeking.
But in the month following, the Rojszas filed a notice of appeal regarding the court’s consent judgement. They now have until mid-May to submit their argument for the appeal and then the city will have a month to submit their response to the court. As a result, it could be June before a court date is set for the appeal.
In the mean time since the court decision, a significant amount of work on and around the structure could be seen.
