Chicken nuggets recalled may have wire pieces embedded in them

Perdue Foods LLC of Perry, Georgia is recalling approximately 167,171 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken breast nugget and tender products that may be contaminated with pieces of wire.

Recalled products are frozen, ready-to-eat chicken products sold in vacuum-sealed plastic packages with varying weights.

  • PERDUE Simply Smart ORGANICS Breaded CHICKEN BREAST NUGGETS, 22-oz. (1.38-lbs.)
  • PERDUE CHICKEN BREAST TENDERS, 29-oz. (1.81-lbs.)
  • BUTCHERBOX Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets, 22-oz. (1.38-lbs.)

The products subject to recall were produced on March 23, 2024, and have the establishment number “P-33944” and a “Best if Used By Date” of “03 23 25” marked on the back of the package.

These items were shipped to national retailers.

There have been no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the recalled products.

The problem was discovered after the firm received consumer complaints about metal wire embedded in the product.

Consumers are encouraged to check for recalled products in their freezers and not to consume any recalled products. Recalled products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
