Cement truck vs passenger car crash blocked Birch Bay-Lynden Road

First responders were dispatched to the 3700 block of Birch Bay-Lynden Road due to a report of crash shortly after 4pm today, May 17th.

According to unconfirmed radio transmissions from the scene, a eastbound cement truck had rear-ended a passenger car that was stopped for a school bus.

No injuries were reported from the scene but the passenger car had substantial rear end damage.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office deputies were on the scene investigating the crash.

As of 4:45pm, traffic was reduced to a single lane and flaggers were alternating the direction of travel through the crash scene.

As of 5:10pm, both lanes were reported open and the scene cleared.
