The next flood event is forecast to occur in a few days after another round of heavy local and mountain rains.

The Nooksack River is reported to have crested about 5am within official moderate flood stage range.
The river level was reported to be just past the 20-foot mark at 10pm.
The rains appear to have stopped but the river is expected to continue rising into Sunday morning.
Low-lying residential areas in the vicinity of VanderYacht Park are considered at risk for flooding when the river gets near the 20-foot mark.
Closures include Slater Road, Hovander Homestead Park and VanderYacht Park. Gusts to 65mph are forewarned.
"Slater Road and Marine Drive will flood and [are] expected to be shut down Friday night, probably for 3-4 days."
Saturated ground and lack of strong wind events this season creates more of a threat for downed trees and power outages.
