A little after 1pm today, June 15th, a call for several fire units went out, including a water tender, for a brush fire reported at Northwest Drive and Sunset Avenue.
According to Whatcom County Fire District 7 Assistant Chief Larry Hoffman, upon arrival they found a controlled burn by the property owner that had simply gotten out of control. It was dealt with in short order with no injuries or property damage to report.
