Body Recovered Near Lummi Island Ferry Dock

This morning the Whatcom Chief ferry that runs between Gooseberry Point and Lummi Island stopped operations for an hour while a body was recovered from near the dock.

Little information was available at the time this article was written except according to witness reports the body appeared to be that of a non-native person.

Update 6/19/15
Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office says information obtained during the investigation indicates that this was a suicide and no foul play of any kind is suspected.
